This great journey gives you the opportunity to explore the attractive nature and landscapes of Oman, especially wadies, which are mainly located in the Coast of Oman Sea and are surrounded by the mountains. In fact, some mountains owe their verdure to the wadies.

Day 1

Arrival in Muscat

You will be met on arrival at MCT Airport and transferred to the hotel.

Day 3

Muscat-Wadi Al Arbeieen-Sur : 321 km

Depart Muscat for Sur. On the way, make a stop in the small coastal town of Quriyat, known as the center of fishing actions, and pay a visit to Quriyat Fort and Fish Souk. If time permits, you will also spot Flamingos. Then go on an excursion to Wadi Al Arbeieen by 4*4 where you get mesmerized by the sound of running water, birds and wind. Then head for Bimmah Sinkhole. This hole, which is believed to exist as a result of a meteorite that hit the ground, offers you the opportunity for swimming in the turquoise water. Afterwards, visit Bibi Maryam Mausoleum in Qalahat, registered in UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Fins Beach. In Sur, you visit Dhow Factory where you can take the opportunity to look into the process of building wooden boat, and Al Ayjah Lighthouse, built by the Portuguese as a defending structure. At the end, you go for a delightful stroll along Turtle Beach in Ras al Hadd. You will stay overnight in Sur.

Day 5

Wahiba-Birkat Al Mouz-Nizwa : 180 km

Leave Wahiba Sands for Nizwa, the birthplace of Islam in Oman. En route, If time permits, you can visit a Bedouin Bazaar and Sinaw abounded district. Then go for a stroll in Birkat Al Mouz Village (literally means banana pool) and visit both its ruins and UNESCO-listed irrigation traditional system. Stay overnight in Nizwa.

Day 7

Misfat Al Abriyeen-Bilad Sayt-Muscat : 212 km

On this day, you depart for Muscat. En route, visit Jebel Akhdar Mountain (literally means green mountain) soaring up to the highest point at 3000 meters, the picturesque village of Bilad Sayt and Wadi Bani Awf which includes cool attractions such as the famous “Snake Canyon”. Then you stop in Nakhl and visit its fort dating back to 1834 and proceed to Barka where you can explore Barka souq and Barka fort.
Stay overnight in Muscat.

Day 2

Muscat

Start your city tour by visiting Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. This fantastic mosque which was built on the order of Sultan Qaboos features a large Persian carpet and big chandeliers holding 24 carat gold plating. Then proceed to Royal Opera House, considered as a reflection of the unique contemporary architecture of Oman. Afterwards, stroll in Mutrah Souq, the oldest Bazaar in Oman. Your next exploration is at Bait al Zubair Museum in which the most exceptional collections are displayed by a private entity. At the end, you proceed for a photo stop to the magnificent Al Alam Palace as the formal residence of Omani Kings and Jalali and Mirani Portuguese forts. At last, some grilled fish is served for dinner.

Day 4

Sur-Wadi Bani Khalid-Wahiba Sands : 115 km

In Sur, you will visit Sunaysilah Fort, built to defend the city about 300 years ago. Then go for a stroll in Wadi Bani Khalid where big pools, boulders and springs refreshes you. Then you head for Wahiba Sands, also known as Sharqiya Sands, and enjoy amber-colored sands and towering sand dunes, which gives you the opportunity to have an exquisite trekking. Stay overnight in a Camp.

Day 6

Nizwa-Jebel Shams-Misfat Al Abriyeen : 78 km

In the morning, start your sightseeing in Nizwa. First, you visit Nizwa Fort featuring a unique large round shape used as a defending structure in the past. Then head for Nizwa Souq where Silverware, silver-plated daggers, potteries and jewelry are sold. Next, you go on an excursion to Bahla and visit Bahla Fort, the first Omani site registered in UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pottery Bazaar and Jabreen Castle, built for learning astrology, medicine and Islamic law in 1670. Afterwards, go for a stroll in Al Hamra Mud Village and visit Bait al Safah Museum where the staff are locals who practice the traditions, norms and roles of the Omani people. Then drive up to Jebel Shams Mountain (literally means sun mountain), considered as the highest mountain of the Hajar Range. At the end, take a walk in Misfat Alabriyyn Village and explore the houses whose roofs are covered with palm leaves. This attractive village offers you a good opportunity for trekking. You will stay overnight in Misfat Al Abriyeen.

Day 8

Departure from Muscat

Transfer to MCT Airport for your flight home.
